Forward Paul McIlveen who was recently dumped by Freiburg for not fitting in was surprisingly snapped up by the Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams for the rest of the 2009-10 season. GM Karl-Heinz Fliegauf was impressed with the 23-year-old's play in North America and decided to give him a chance to prove himself. The move was necessitated by the season-ending injury to Peter Sarno.

Former University of Vermont forward Brady Leisenring has been picked up by the Hannover Indians after his contract with the Landshut was not extended. The 27-year-old American put up 15 points in 26 games for the Cannibals this season.

According to officials of Olimpija Ljubljana, the contracts with forward Brendan Yarema, goalie Norm Maracle and defenseman Greg Kuznik have been dissolved due to financial difficulties. The club recently came up with the cash to bring in a new coach but are now dumping their best players. Go figure.
