Austro-Canadian Mark Szucs has been slapped with a six-game suspension for his stick foul on Alba Volan forward Janos Vas. The 33-year-old Union College grad speared his unsuspecting opponent as Vas celebrated a goal in a game on January 1st. The jury found the infraction to be especially vicious since it occurred after the play was over and the victim was not expecting it.

Forward Eric Himelfarb has had his trial contract with Langenthal extended to the end of the season. Himelfarb joined the team from Lausanne and in 8 games with his new team has scored 5 goals and added 8 assists.

Reacting to the loss of the injured Boyd Devereaux, Lugano has signed American forward Matt Murley to a try-out contract. Murley has been playing this season with Langenthal where he picked up 23 points in 22 games.
